With the Yamaha YHT-760 Home Theater in a Box System (XM-ready) you get everything you need to prepare your living room for amazing home theater experiences. Included is a 5.1-channel A/V home theater receiver, a five-disc carousel DVD changer, a 120-watt powered subwoofer, two main speakers, a center channel speaker and two surround speakers. The receiver is even XM satellite radio ready, which means that with an addition of an XM Connect and Play and XM subscription, you can tune into your favorite XM broadcasts.

The receiver that's included with the YHT-760 is ready for all formats. Major features include five-channel discrete amplification, Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) amplifier design concept that ensures the highest signal purity, and Quad-Field Cinema Digital Sound Field Processing, or DSP, Yamaha's way of recreating the ambiance of a stadium, a concert hall or an intimate club in the comfort of your own home. Also included are 14 surround programs and Silent Cinema, Yamaha's exclusive technology that allows private listening enjoyment of multi-channel music or movie sound, including Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround, through ordinary headphones. The system delivers high power to six channels and provides Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS Neo:6 and DTS 96/24 decoding.

The YHT-760's DVD not only plays DVD-video, but it also plays CDs and VCDs. You can play back DVD+R/+RW discs, DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW discs, including those that contain MP3, DivX and WMA files. The high-performance laser pick-up has independent heads to provide top-quality Video CD, SCD, and DVD performance. You can view JPEG images saved to CD, and the JPEG/MP3 simultaneous playback capability makes for some exciting slide shows. The DVD changer also features a sophisticated anti-vibration system incorporating shockproof memory circuitry and a large disc stabilizer to keep your discs running smoothly.

The YHT-760 includes two main speakers, two surround speakers, one center channel speaker and a powered subwoofer. The high compliance main speakers feature 6.5-inch woofers to really drive the sound, while the center channel speaker has dual three-inch woofers so you'll get crisp, clear sound from the dialogue channel of the system. The center channel, along with the main speakers, are magnetically shielded so you can place them close to your television monitor without worrying about magnetic interference. Two smaller surround speakers are an essential part of this system, making for seamless pans and flyovers, which are the norm for today's Hollywood soundtrack productions. Driving the low-end sounds is a very capable 120 watt powered subwoofer, featuring a 10-inch multi-range driver and a 30 Hz to 200 Hz frequency response.

The included receiver features Yamaha's exclusive Quad-Field Cinema Digital Sound Field Processing, or DSP -- Yamaha's way of recreating the ambiance of a stadium, a concert hall or an intimate club in the comfort of your own home. The YHT-760's receiver features 14 different sound programs, so every movie and every piece of music will sound right in your home theater. Discrete power transistors rather than chips are
